Composition - Group Songwriting Class

This 50min weekly composition class is truly an incredible opportunity for a very limited number of homeschool students (4 students max), ages 11yrs - 17yrs old. Students will work directly with world renowned performer and composer, Ms Lubov, in a small group class which will meet weekly. Students will learn the art and skill of composing original instrumental music, using state of the art composition software. Student compositions will be entered into various competitions throughout the world, with the hopes of having some of our most outstanding student pieces performed live on such world renowned stages as Carnegie Hall. Over the last decade, Ms Lubov and many of her students have submitted original works and won prestigious competitions. She has a wonderfully unique gift in composition and teaching, that both inspires and encourages creativity within the hearts and minds of her students. Student will need to bring a personal laptop to class each week to participate.

Lubov Alvei is an accomplished music educator and performer who has built a distinguished international career as a vocal coach, performer, and music educator, combining the traditions of classical vocal artistry with the expressive depth of musical theater performance.  Her passion is to nurture the hearts and minds of young artists.  She holds an M.A. in Music from the Moscow University of Culture, and completed an advanced summer course in Musical Theatre Composition at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts under Michael Wartofsky - graduating with distinction in 2009. Her professional foundation began in 1976–1977, when she completed coursework in professional musical theatre, (studying, acting, and performing as an actress and ensemble member in a professional student musical theatre company). Throughout her teaching career, Ms. Alvei’s students have earned gold and silver medals in vocal competitions singing classical and musical theatre repertoire ,and have performed on world-renowned stages including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center (New York, NY), as well as Ehbar Hall (Vienna, Austria), and venues across Slovenia, Germany, and Poland. A dedicated mentor and artist, Ms. Alvei integrates classical as well as musical theatre vocal technique, acting methodology, and stylistic versatility into her teaching philosophy, guiding each student toward authentic, expressive, and technically sound performance.  In addition to her experience in teaching classical vocal artistry and musical theater, Lubov is an award winning composer who's original compositions have been performed throughout many institutions in Europe, most notably the Vienna Austria Conservatory, and in many cities throughout the US.  Lubov loves to share her passion for voice, vocal theater, instrumental piano, music theory, and song writing composition with students of all ages and skill levels who are eager to learn.
