Before moving to Central Florida in 2021, Keith spent 20 years as an active performer, private
instructor, and clinician in Southwest Michigan.
Originally from Sykesville, Maryland, Keith’s musical career began when he started playing the
trumpet in the 4th grade. By the age of twelve, he had already decided that he wanted to
become a professional musician. Keith went on to earned his bachelor of music education from
Towson University and his master’s in music performance from Western Michigan University.
As a performer, Keith holds the position of 2nd trumpet with the Battle Creek Symphony
Orchestra, 3rd trumpet with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra and, from
2009–2011 served as principal trumpet of the Northwest Indiana Symphony. Keith is a
passionate and highly committed music educator and looks forward to working with students at
the Lakeland School of Music.

Barbara M.
Barbara is a well-seasoned music instructor with 40+ years of experience. Her musical journey began at age 9, when she received her first accordian from Stuttgart, Germany. Within 10 years she became a master of the accordion, as well as a competent pianist, trumpet, frenchhorn, and guitar player. In her early 20's she decided to couple her passion for music with her desire to help others by enrolling into the Music Therapy program at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she earned a BA in Music Therapy. After completing a 6 month internship in California, Barbara officially began her career as a music therapist which which she enjoyed for nearly a decade, until she made a career change and accepted a position as the K-12 music teacher at a Christian school in her hometown. There she taught music to children of all ages and skill levels for many years. Barbara is now teaching Piano, Accordian, and Trumpet at Lakeland School of Music and enjoys sharing the gift of music, in a fun and creative way! With her recent opening of Tuesday availabiity, Ms. Barbara currently has many available lesson times on Tuesdays, which won't last long!
